The Polytechnic University of Valencia (UPV) is located in the Valencian Autonomous Community and counts with three different campus located in Valencia Centre, Alcoy and Gandia. It has two different ICT engineering bachelor’s degree:
- Degree in Telecommunications Technologies and Services Engineering – Valencia Centre Campus.
- Degree in Telecommunications, Sound and Image Systems Engineering – Gandia Campus.
Neither bachelor’s degree has a specific course related with sustainability, only some economic concept are present in the following courses: Business Creation [1] and Business Economics in the Telecommunications Sector [2].
Nevertheless, the bachelor’s degree incorporates transversal competences, of which the following are related to sustainability:
- Innovation, creativity and entrepreneurship: innovate to respond satisfactorily and in an original way to personal, organizational and social needs and demands with an entrepreneurial attitude.
- Ethical, environmental and professional responsibility: act with ethical, environmental and professional responsibility towards oneself and others.
- Critical thinking: develop critical thinking taking an interest in the foundations on which ideas, actions and judgments are based, both their own and those of others.
- Knowledge of contemporary issues: identify and interpret contemporary problems in their field of specialization, as well as in other fields of knowledge [3].
